Got a new phone?

We’ll help you get straight back into the ABN AMRO app

It’s always nice to have a new phone, a new start. And it’s handy if all your apps are there right away, including the ABN AMRO app. Here are a few tips.

  1. Transfer your apps to your new device

You can often transfer your apps to your new device automatically. Choose to copy files and apps from your old device. Once the device has finished installing everything, you’ll see the ABN AMRO app in your overview.

Do you have an Android? Use the same Google account as you did on your old phone. This will allow you to choose the apps you want to transfer. To make sure the ABN AMRO app still works properly, don’t transfer it to your new device. Instead, download it again in step 2.

Do you have an Apple? Make a back-up of your apps on iCloud. This will allow you to install your apps on your new phone. To make sure the ABN AMRO app still works properly, don’t transfer it to your new device. Instead, download it again in step 2.

  2. Download and activate the app

Download the app again from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store. Follow the steps in the ABN AMRO app to activate it. This will link your new device to your bank account(s).

    Download and activate now.

  3. Remove your previous device from the list of Registered devices

Go to Profile. Scroll down to Access and usage. Tap the recycle bin shown next to your old device under Registered devices. If you also use the app on other devices (such as a tablet), you’ll see a list. The date that you last logged in is shown next to each device. This will help you to decide which devices to remove.

The app isn’t working properly on your new phone

Log in to Internet Banking and go to Self service. Click My details > ABN AMRO app device registration > View device registration. Click the recycle bin shown next to your old device. Then download our app again on your new device. You’ll be asked if you already have an identification code. Select No. You can then choose the same identification code as you were using before.

Install the ABN AMRO app using a QR code

If you’ve got a new phone but your ID doesn’t have an NFC chip, for example, you might have problems activating the ABN AMRO app. If so, you can link your new phone using a unique QR code. Scan the QR code in the app on your old device, and your details will be transferred securely.
