Annual travel insurance

Why you should take out annual travel insurance

You’ve booked a few holiday trips to look forward to. Annual travel insurance is perfect if you go on holiday several times a year and want to be covered all year round. It covers you as standard for things like extra costs due to a natural disaster or having to return home early following a serious accident. It's possible to take out additional covers. For instance for medical costs or cancelation.

Travel and coronavirus

Many customers have questions about travel insurance and coronavirus, which is why we have compiled a list of frequently asked questions (and their answers) for you.

  • Assistance in the event of an accident, illness, admission to hospital or death

Your additional cover Cancellation does not provide cover for a cancelled flight. We advise you to contact your travel agency or the airline.

  • For a delay of between 20 and 32 hours, we will only reimburse the part of the travel sum corresponding to 2 days.

Weekends away

There’s no need to take out travel insurance especially for a weekend away. Our annual travel insurance also covers you for weekends away, whether you’re off to a popular European destination like Antwerp or Berlin with your partner, or spending a weekend with the whole family at the Dutch seaside.

Medical costs

The extra cover for medical costs is an additional cover for the annual travel insurance. If you regularly travel outside The Netherlands it is often handy to take out this cover. Your health insurance will only cover the amount you would have to pay if you were treated in the Netherlands. Additional costs you'll have to pay yourself. This amount can add up quickly. Example: admission to hospital for appendicitis in the USA costs €50,000. In the Netherlands, it costs €2,500. If you don’t have cover for medical costs as part of your travel insurance, you will have to pay the difference of €47,500 yourself. With the additional cover for medical costs all costs will be covered by your insurance.
